Service providers such as payment processors may also share transaction-related information. Sitterwise may additionally obtain demographic, research, or marketing data from partners and combine it with information collected directly.

Automatically collected information
Sitterwise may automatically collect IP address, browser type, browser language, operating system, device identifiers, usage behavior, referring and exit pages, clicked content, time spent, timestamps, and error logs.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising technologies
Sitterwise and its service providers may use cookies, tracking pixels, and similar technologies to recognize users, measure site usage, customize the experience, improve services, and evaluate the effectiveness of advertising. Authorized third parties may also use these technologies to help deliver relevant Sitterwise ads.
Sitterwise also uses Google Analytics in aggregate to better understand its audience, and states that browser “Do Not Track” requests may not be honored.
Social media features: Tools such as “Like” and “Share” buttons may collect your IP address, the page URL you are visiting, and may set cookies. Your interactions with those features are governed by the privacy policy of the third-party provider.

Sitterwise may also aggregate and/or de-identify information. Aggregated or de-identified data is not intended to identify you and may be used or disclosed without restriction under this policy.
4. How We Share and Categories of Third Parties With Whom We Share Information
In addition to the uses described above, Sitterwise may share information with third parties in the following ways.
With Site Visitors and Registered Users
To increase the likelihood of finding care or finding work, Sitterwise may display information included in reservations or profiles, excluding contact information, along with details such as first name, last initial, city, state, profile picture, and for caregivers, gender and age unless age sharing is disabled.
Posts made in online groups or forums may be visible to others who access those spaces. Testimonials and endorsements may also be displayed on the site or in marketing materials.
With other users, vendors, and service providers
Reviews, references, caregiver phone numbers, Facebook-based connections, and certain account notices may be shared with relevant users. Sitterwise may also share information with vendors that provide services such as email delivery, geolocation support, background checks, credit card processing, classified advertising, SMS delivery, communications tools, fraud detection, and Google Invisible reCAPTCHA.
With search engines, social platforms, and public websites
Selected information from reservations and caregiver profiles, including photos, first name, last initial, city, state, and job or provider description, may be shared with search engines, social media sites, or third-party websites, which may make that information publicly searchable.
With Facebook, affiliates, and during business transactions
If you connect through Facebook, you may choose to share certain Sitterwise activity back to your Facebook account. Sitterwise may also disclose information to affiliates and subsidiaries for operational and commercial purposes. If Sitterwise is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
As required by law or for safety reasons
Sitterwise may disclose information when it believes disclosure is appropriate to investigate illegal activity, suspected fraud, threats to health or safety, policy violations, terms violations, or to protect the rights and property of Sitterwise, its users, employees, and the public.
5. Your Choices Regarding Information Sharing and Communication
Registered Users control how much optional information they choose to share, including profile content, reservation details, and uploaded images. Sitterwise also describes the following opt-out options:
- Opt out of showing online status to other Registered Users.
- Opt out of having reservation or caregiver profile information appear in third-party search engine results.
- Disable Facebook Connect to stop certain Facebook-related sharing.
- Disable location, contacts, or similar sharing through mobile device settings.
By becoming a Registered User, you consent to receive certain emails, including special offers, tips, notifications, surveys, and administrative notices. You can opt out of marketing emails and some optional emails in your account settings or by using the unsubscribe link in those messages.
Even if marketing preferences are changed, Sitterwise may continue to send administrative communications, such as policy updates, reservation responses, and caregiver-related messages where applicable.
6. Changing or Removing Information and Closing Your Account
You can update certain information through your account settings. Information posted in profiles or reservations can often be edited or removed directly, although Sitterwise states that some removal requests may not be reasonably accommodated in every case.
If you close your account, Sitterwise states that it will remove your name and other contact and identifiable information from its publicly viewable database. However, it may retain information for fraud prevention, legal compliance, auditing, enforcing agreements, account recovery, analytics, or providing services to other users.
Messages sent to other users, group contributions, and information copied by others may remain visible after account closure. Search engines may also continue displaying cached or indexed versions of removed content until those indexes are refreshed.
7. Collection of Information from Children
Sitterwise’s site and services are not intended for individuals under age 14. If Sitterwise becomes aware that it has collected personal information, as defined by the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, from children under age 13, it states that it will take reasonable steps to delete that information as soon as practicable.
8. How We Protect Information
Sitterwise states that it uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help protect against unauthorized access, destruction, or alteration of collected information. These safeguards may vary based on the sensitivity of the information and the current state of technology.
Important note: Sitterwise also states that it cannot guarantee collected information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this policy.
9. Links to Other Websites
The site and services may contain links to third-party websites and services. Sitterwise is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external services. Once you leave Sitterwise, this policy no longer governs your activity.
10. Changes to Our Privacy Policy
Sitterwise reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy and its Terms of Use at any time. Material changes take effect 30 days after notice is provided. Non-material changes or clarifications take effect immediately upon posting.
You should periodically check www.sitterwise.com/privacy for updates. Continued use of the site or services after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
